Title:	台灣原住民固有的宗教

Abstract:	本文旨在呈現十九世紀至二十世紀初，台灣原住民宗教的面貌，與其內部主要的差異。原住民各族群之間的差異直到二十世紀初，首度經由日籍學者的普查與研究，才有所釐清；今日我們對於台灣原住民內不同種屬的認識，大抵仍然承襲當時的研究成果。二十世紀以來，日籍學者最早對台灣原住民進行實地訪查。不過，當時西部平地的原住民，亦即清政府所謂的「熟番」，由於從十七世紀中到十九世紀中與漢族長達兩百年的接觸、互動，普遍已失去其語言與大多數的社會文化特質，因此日籍學者將其統稱為「平埔族」。相較於平埔族，居住在高山地區與東部平地地區的原住民，也就是清政府所謂的「生番」，則只受到外來少許的影響，其固有的社會文化制度仍然存在；他們被日本政府稱為「高砂族」，國民政府後來改稱為「高山族」或「山胞」，後來再改稱原住民；日據以來據其差異大致區分為九族。本文認為欲探究台灣原住民固有的宗教面貌，較完整的線索來自於上述較晚受到外來政權統治影響的九或十個原住民族群。
