Abstract:	巴柏係繼約翰彌勒 (John S. mill) 之後的自由主義大師、也許由於時代的特殊背景 "巴柏係繼約翰彌勒 (John S. mill) 之後的自由主義大師、也許由於時代的特殊背景，作者在他著作中，再三對極權主義從事最嚴厲的批評、此外、他是以研究方法論起家，因此其政治思想與其知識論的主張密切相關，筆者對本文的處理。第一章導論扼要介紹研究的目的，資料及處理的態度。第二章開放理性論，在說明開放社會的兩大特徵，即是理性與批評。第三章著重在說明巴相對民主所持的看法，並強調制度、傳統的重要性。第四章則闡明、對社會問題的改革，應採漸進的手段，反對暴力革命。第五章除了追溯巴柏思想的背景與基礎外，並對巴柏政治思想做一評價。估計本文約五、六萬字、共一冊。
