Title:	臺灣鋼鐵工業的規模經濟研究

Abstract:	臺灣鋼鐵工業自民國22年以來，已有四十四年的歷史。雖然鋼鐵廠數量相當多（民國64年參加鋼鐵公會的廠商有278家），但一般的生產規模普遍很小，而且大廠商與小廠商間的規模差異很大。單從生產規模來判斷，我們預期臺灣鋼鐵工業的生產效率水準不高。本文的目的即根據規模經濟理論，來測定臺灣鋼鐵工業之生產效率。特定的說，我們估計各種鋼鐵品的規模因子，函數係數以及最小效率規模（minimum efficient scale，簡稱m.e.s.），以判定各種鋼鐵品的生產效率。附帶的，我們將測定大廠商是否有構成寡占面造成進入產業之阻礙（barrier）。
