This study takes the sports talent class of a certain junior high school in northern Taiwan that transformed into an experimental education school in 111 as a case, employing qualitative research and a cross-sectional survey to explore the integration and future development of the sports talent class with the experimental education concept. The researcher conducted in-depth semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders within the school from July of 111 to January of 112, organized and interpreted the collected data, and finally presented discussions and recommendations based on the research findings. The sports talent class maintains its previous mode of student recruitment, while its curriculum structure and diversified assessment methods are similar to those of the experimental education curriculum for regular classes. Although the previous methods of class management and discipline already conformed to the experimental education concept, this study found that, due to specialized training courses, the sports talent class experienced a reduction in learning hours or assessment items. This resulted in a tug-of-war between athletic performance outcomes and learning effectiveness, as well as differences in expectations between teachers and parents regarding the learning objectives of the sports talent class. Achieving an appropriate balance between the two has become a challenge that the case school will have to face in the future. Looking ahead, the sports talent class should design courses that combine both enjoyment and practicality to enhance students' learning motivation and self-regulation abilities-a goal for which the school's administrators and teachers must work together. Based on the important findings of the study, it is recommended that the case school continuously consider the appropriate balance between specialized training courses and the experimental education curriculum, as well as continue or increase the experimental courses and learning content.
