| 摘要: | 以巴問題自以色列建國以來受到國際社會關注，2023年10月7日，以色列與巴勒斯坦地區武裝組織哈瑪斯在加薩地區再一次發生衝突並引起各界討論。針對此次「以加戰爭」，本文試圖從兩大國際媒體──BBC和AJE的報導觀察此次以加衝突在不同媒體報導中的展現的內涵，從報導的文字與圖像，瞭解兩媒體塑造此次衝突「再現」的異同，並探知兩媒體在國際上的論述衝突以及所欲傳達或代表的象徵意義。
本文發現，BBC與AJE的報導策略都是隨著國際局勢變化而調整，整體而言，在2023年以加戰爭中，BBC仍將英國觀點納入報導中，且強調戰爭影響所及無辜之人應受到重視；AJE則展現阿拉伯的視角，並訴諸國際社會力量以聲援加薩地區。雙方既延續以巴衝突的背景故事描繪此次戰爭，也透過不同的報導敘述展現各自關注方式。
The Israeli-Palestinian issue has drawn international attention since the establishment of the State of Israel. On October 7, 2023, a new fight broke out between Israel and Hamas, a Palestinian armed group, in the Gaza Strip. This event led to a lot of discussion around the world. This paper aims to examine the “Israel-Gaza War” through the coverage of two major international media outlets—BBC and AJE. By analyzing both the language and images used in their reports, the study explores how each media outlet represented the conflict and identifies similarities and differences in their portrayals. Furthermore, it investigates the discursive tensions between the two outlets on the international stage and the symbolic meanings they aim to convey or represent through their reporting.
The findings reveal that both BBC and AJE adjusted their reporting strategies in response to changes in the international political landscape. Overall, during the 2023 Israel-Gaza war, BBC maintained a British perspective in its coverage and emphasized the plight of innocent civilians affected by the conflict. In contrast, AJE presented an Arab viewpoint and appealed to the international community to show solidarity with Gaza. Both outlets contextualized the war through the historical background of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, while also highlighting their distinct focal points through differing narrative approaches. |
