| Abstract: | 本研究立足於台灣文學研究和動物研究的交會處，提出「次人遭遇非人」的分析框架，企圖為台灣的動物書寫量身打造一條「不只關注人」（more-than-human）的閱讀路徑。本研究以三位作家張貴興（1956-）、吳明益（1971-）、邱常婷（1990-）發表於2015至2020年間的小說為主要討論對象，兼及洪醒夫（1949-1982）寫於1970年代的鄉土文學，探究台灣動物書寫如何將「非人」動物與常被視為「次人」的女性、被殖民者和障礙者並置呈現。本研究首先通過文本「重述」的閱讀策略，將原先以「人類為主、動物為輔」的作品轉譯為多物種遭逢和互動的故事，從而立體化作品中原先被遮蔽的人與動物關係；其次借助「並置比較、互為參照」的分析方法，將物種向度納入「交織性」的理論框架中，以此「重溯」不同壓迫形式的共同根源，並檢視「非人化」的修辭如何作為合理化暴力運作的基礎；最後致力於「重塑」人與動物的關係，挑戰長期造成兩者隔閡的二元對立思維，透過聚焦「身體」、「情感」與「能動性」等面向，嘗試建立跨物種的橫向連結。本研究受到哈洛威（Donna J. Haraway）「敘事即創世」的啟發，將研究動物書寫重新定位為一種「説故事」的實踐，期望透過訴說「與動物同在」的故事，召喚人類重新看見、感知並思索與其他生命的共生可能性。
This study stands at the intersection of Taiwanese Literary Studies and Animal Studies. It proposes the analytical framework: “the subhuman vs. the nonhuman.” The goal is to develop a new reading approach for animal writing in Taiwan literature that moves “more than human.” The main texts are novels published between 2015 and 2020 by three writers: Zhang Guixing, Wu Ming-yi, and Chiu Chang-ting. The study also examines Hong Xingfu’s nativist fiction from the 1970s. It explores how animal writing in Taiwan literature positions nonhuman animals within a shared matrix of oppression with marginalized human subjects, such as women, the colonized, and the disabled. The research uses a three-stage methodological approach. First, through textual re-articulation, works previously understood as human-centered with animals as mere supplements are reinterpreted as narratives of multispecies encounters. This brings hidden human–animal relationships into view. Second, through strategic juxtaposition and cross-reference, the study brings species into intersectionality theory. This helps explore the common roots of oppression and how “dehumanization” legitimizes violence. Finally, the study seeks to reshape human–animal relations by challenging traditional binary oppositions. It focuses on the concepts of embodiment, affect, and agency to construct more equitable, cross-species connections. Inspired by Donna J. Haraway’s idea that “storytelling is a form of world-making,” this study approaches the analysis of animal writing as a form of storytelling. By narrating stories of “staying-with animals,” it invites people to rethink how humans perceive, sense, and imagine cohabiting with other forms of life. |
