Abstract:	由於大眾傳播和政治是相互影響的社會過程，本文旨在思考大眾傳播媒介應如何促進民主政治的發展，重點如下：(1)大眾傳媒應該作為資訊提供者，以客觀、平衡、正確的報導來維護社會長遠利益；(2)大眾傳媒應幫助人民對公共事務達到「充分了解」，以掀起大眾對民主政治之嚮往；(3)大眾傳媒應該擴展對公共政策的討論，而相關從業者應高瞻遠矚，在政策尚在規劃階段，就將公共事務提出討論；(4)在社會上遇到某種危機，大眾傳媒應澄清局勢，並且正確的、不斷的、有系統的供應消息，消滅謠言；(5)大眾傳媒應教育社會大眾尊重文化的差異性，因為民主社會是容忍、互敬的社會。
