    Abstract: 檔案鑒定是檔案館選擇檔案的所有過程,係檔案館工作中非常重要的一環。Frank Boles與Julia Marks Young 於1985年共同提出的「黑盒子鑒定模式」,將檔案鑒定予以模式化。該模式分為三個模組,各模組之下又分為若干細項,可供檔案鑒定時參考。本文主要探討該檔案鑒定模式之內涵,以及紐約公共圖書館測試「黑盒子鑒定模式」之結果。
    Archival appraisal is a process of the archival repository during selection of archives. It is an essential archival function in an archival repository. The Black Box Appraisal Model was developed by Frank Boles and Julia Marks Young in 1985. This Model is seperated into 3 modules. Each module is comprised of several elements that should be considered when making an appraisal decision. This article mainly discusses the contents of Black Box Appraisal Model. In addition, the resultes of the New York Public Library participated in the field testing of the Model is described.
