    Title: 『或阿呆の一生』中の『魔笛』についての一試論
    On the ＂Magic Flute＂ of ＂A Fool`s Life＂

    Abstract: 明治44年（1911）3月4日に帝国劇場は日本初の本格的な西洋オペラ劇場として設立された。モーツァルトの『魔笛』は帝国劇場で公演する西洋オペラの第一作目として上演された。明治43年（1910）芥川龍之介が第一高等学校に入学し、彼の残した当時の書簡を通して、この頃から西洋音楽に対して強い関心を持つようになったことが読み取れる。その後、作家として脚光を浴び、実生活で帝国劇場へしばしば足を運ぶだけでなく、作品にもしばしば帝国劇場を背景に取り上げている。芥川の遺稿となった『或阿呆の一生』に『魔笛』について言及がみられる。『魔笛』にある曲は「心もちに妙にしみ渡る音楽」というのである。しかし、『魔笛』は全幕の中で二十一の曲がある。芥川が示す「心もちに妙にしみ渡る音楽」のモチーフを解明するのに先立ち、彼が聴いた『魔笛』の曲の正体を明らかにすることが必要ではないかという疑問が残る。しかし、この課題については、先学にはまだ検討されていない。小論では『魔笛』の日本での受容や関連記事を探り、当時帝劇で『魔笛』の公演がどのように扱われたのかを考察し、芥川が聞いた『魔笛』の曲の正体を明らかにする。そして、芥川が死の直前に見つめていた音楽、また、その心境の反映と掲示の意味を考える。
    明治時期在急速近代化的背景中，明治44年（1911）3月4日日本史上首座西式歌劇院「帝國劇場」在東京開幕，自此拉開了西洋不朽的名歌劇在日本的演出序幕。莫札特的《魔笛》為帝國劇場開幕後演出的第一部西洋歌劇。芥川龍之介在跨入文壇後，不僅在現實生活中是帝國劇場的常客，更是屢於作品中以帝國劇場為背景描繪其中的音樂會場景。芥川在生前最後一部作品《某阿呆的一生》（1927）中提及了歌劇《魔笛》是「莫名地滲入了內心的音樂」。惟《魔笛》全幕共有21首曲目，在解讀芥川此一短篇的創作動機之前，首先必要釐清的芥川所指稱的《魔笛》曲目為何，然此一議題尚未見先學研究。因此，本論以此為問題提起，首先追溯《魔笛》在日本的受容與演出的相關史料，還原《魔笛》當時在帝國劇場的演出過程，釐清芥川與《魔笛》邂逅的音樂曲目，進而探討芥川在自盡心意已決執筆之際，對此樂曲的獨特視角與所反映的心境。｜The first western-style opera house in Japan ＂Imperial Drama＂ was opened in 1911, and Mozart`s ＂The Magic Flute＂ was its first opera. ＂A Fool`s Life＂ (1927), the last work of Akutagawa, mentions the opera ＂Magic Flute＂. Akutagawa sighed with ＂the music infiltrating into the heart inexplicably However, there are 21 songs in ＂The Magic Flute＂. Before interpreting the motives of this short story of Akutagawa, it is necessary to clarify which song of ＂The Magic Flute＂ that he refers to. Therefore, this paper focuses on tracking the historical materials related to the acceptance and performance of ＂The Magic Flute＂ in Japan to restore the performance of ＂The Magic Flute＂ in the Imperial Drama. Then it explains the significance that Akutagawa met the music of ＂Magic Flute＂ before he committed suicide, as well as thinks about his unique perspective of ＂The Magic Flute＂ and mood in his works.
