    Abstract: Ф. Сологуб - один из виднейших представителей русского символизма. Анализ произведений, относящихся к этому литературному направлению, предполагает специфические приемы анализа. В статье рассматривается образ города как мифологизированное пространство, что предполагает больший интерес к особенностям авторского художественного мышления, чем к описанию реалий городского быта. Тем не менее, в этом художественном пространстве достаточно ясно прослеживаются не только аллюзии древнегреческого и гностического мифа, но и переосмысленные факты авторской биографии и общественной жизни России.
    Sologub is one of the most important figures in Russian Symbolism. Any work representing this literary movement requires the specific ways of analysis. The article aims to investigate some features of Urban Myth in Sologub`s creative method rather than describe the realms of urban culture reflected in his novels and short stories. It is evident however that this myth adheres to obscured Ancient Greek and Gnostic tradition as well as to some details of author`s biography and Russian society.
