;A Study on Zhu Zhen’s Theories in Yi-Tu—the Study of I-Ching In Song Dynasty, Yili Xue (Principle Study) represented the mainstream value in the study of I-Ching. Meanwhile, Yi-Tu (Yi Diagrams) started to be developed while Xiang-Shu (Image-Number School) originating from Han-Yi declined. Under such circumstances, Zhu Zhen appeared as a distinct and important figure among I-Ching philosophers in Song Dynasty. He developed his complex and ingenious views by resorting back to Han-Yi and, at the same time, retaining Yili ideas of Cheng Yi and Zhang Zai and including various Yi-Tu in his theories. The present study, as a continuation of the earlier two studies “A Study on Zhu Zhen’s I-Ching Learning,” and “A Study on Zhu Zhen’s Theories in Xiang-Shu and Tu-Shu—the Study of I-Ching” is a one-year-long extensive research of Zhu Zhen’s views on Yi-Tu. Based on theories of Song philosophers, Zhu composed more Yi-Tu, reflecting his understanding of Tu-Shu theories in Song Dynasty and Xiang-Shu theories in Han Dynasty. Through a complete and comprehensive research, the study aims to provide a thorough classification of Zhu Zhen’s Yi-Tu and a detailed analysis of his theories in Yi-Tu, trace the history of his overall views of I-Ching to their early origins, and review strengths and weaknesses of his arguments, hoping to give an indication of his role in history, assess his influence and offer an objective evaluation.
