Title:	書評：Ancestors and Anxiety: Daoism and the Birth of Rebirth in China

Abstract:	由於學術學門的分類，過去佛教與道教研究分屬兩個研究學門，佛教學界與道教學界彼此的交流整合並不多。在學術主題上各學門也都是在個別宗教傳統中進行研究，鮮少以各宗教交涉的廣闊視角來檢視該主題。但二十世紀後葉開始有學者致力於佛教、道教交涉的跨領域研究，並在近數十年有不少成果出現。此領域目前的研究多以經典文獻為基本素材，從各種宗教文獻之中去探討佛教、道教之術語、概念、教義、宇宙觀、救贖論等之借用與轉化，從而研究佛教語彙如何呈現與運用於道教經典中，以及佛教又如何借用與詮釋道教語彙，從這種現象檢視兩種文化在中國本土的交流與轉化。不過近年來的研究顯示，過去的研究在方法論上仍有諸多可以探討之處，柏夷 (Stephen Bokenkamp)的近作〈先祖與焦慮〉就是在方法論反省的背景之下，試著重新思考早期學者討論佛教如何「征服」、「影響」道教或者是佛教「中國化」的研究模式，指出這些模式抽象化「佛教」與「道教」，忽略佛、道教兩者在實際上更為複雜細緻的交融滲透、磨合和轉化，也因此忽略信仰者及信仰現象。
