    Abstract: 本研究探討新產品開發活動完整性、製造能力、設計/製造整合機制與新產品開發績效間的關係,並以台灣區汽車零組件業為調查研究對象,總共發出278份問卷,回收有效問卷122份。 研究發現,新產品開發績效佳的廠商對新產品開發活動執行得較完整,且強調產品規劃、產品設計的活動。新產品開發活動執行完整的廠商其製造能力亦較高,同時,亦使其具有較佳的新產品開發績效。 新產品開發活動完整性不同的廠商所使用整合機制在臨時任務小組、資深人員整合、高階整合、地理位置接近、製造資訊系統有顯著的不同;製造能力不同的廠商所使用整合機制在高階整合、地理位置接近、資深人員整合、設計規則、製造資訊系統有顯著不同;設計/製造整合機制並不是造成新產品開發績效差異的原因,其原因來自於新產品開發活動的執行完整性和製造能力。 本研究建議廠商落實新產品開發活動的執行,特別是產品規劃、產品設計的活動,加強提昇製造能力的投資,以提高新產品開發績效,加強競爭能力,高階主管具有技術相關知識、資深人員的地位以及建立CAD/CAM和設計規則,有助於促進設計和製造間的協調整合。
    The effect of completeness of new product development (NPD) activities performed, manufacturing capability, design-manufacturing integration mechanism upon the NPD performance of firms in Taiwan Auto parts industry is empirically studies. The major findings showed that (1) completeness of NPD activities performed is positively correlated with manufacturing capability. Both in turn are positively correlated with NPD performance. (2) Firms performed different degree of completeness of NPD activities utilizing Design/manufacturing integration mechanism such as: task force, senior staff integration, managerial integrating role, physical proximity, CAD/CAM data base differently. (3) Firms with different manufacturing capability utilizing Design/manufacturing integration mechanism such as: managerial integrating role, physical proximity, senior staff integration, design rule, CAD/CAM data base differently. (4) However, the type of design/manufacturing mechanisms is not significantly different between different NPD performance firms. The completeness of NPD activities and manufacturing capability contribute to NPD performance. The research suggests firms perform NPD activities completely, especially product planning and product engineering, and investment in promoting manufacturing capability to gain higher NPD performance and competitive advantage in such a competitive environment of Auto parts industry. The technological competence of senior manager, the position of senior staff in the organization, CAD/CAM data base and design rule are the major facilitors for the coordination/integration of design and manufacturing during the new product development process.
