Abstract:	第一部分緒論分兩章第一章「釋道」。證釋「道」字由本義引申至各義之情形以明道字意義之遞演第二章論孟中之「道」。舉論孟書中具代表意義之道字詮釋之。第二部分本論「孔孟之道述義」分三章第一章「所用名詞之闡釋」闡明文中所用諸名詞之意義第二章「內聖」。此章與下章外王為全文重心，孔孟之道期於完成人間達「厚生」之實，欲達厚生必須端正人之行為，而人之行為根源於其心之意念，故本章即由內心之意念展開：第一節「道德主體之建立」立仁義禮道德主體以見「應然之理」（仁）發為萬善之行。第二節「德性之沉穩」明人之所以不能彰顯其固有之德性者是因為私欲障蔽之故。第三節「德性之學之工夫」說種種修養工夫。第四節「成德之進程」依工夫之淺深，而有種種人格境界，其極致為「聖人」，乃最理想最圓滿者，此為個人之成就所謂「內聖」者是。第三章「外王」。孔孟之道不僅止於內聖「成己」還須「成物」自近以及遠，以德化之，開物成務，利濟天下，此之謂外王而在孔孟，乃經政治實現之，故此章分兩節，分述孔子孟子之政冶思想。第三部分結論。總結以上以作結束。
