    Abstract: 本文指出,追求與明王朝貿易是他們佔領澎湖的主要因素,然而澎湖是屬於明帝國的領土,不許外國人定居,並用武力壓抑之。荷蘭人一方面必須面對明帝國的武力,另一方面又無法獲得貿易,迫使荷蘭人必須由澎湖撤退到台灣,不過他們想用武力達到貿易的目的,卻沒有因此放棄。
    The 1622-1624 Dutch occupation of Pescadores has been debated, but the discussions are either too simple or suffer form an excess of abstraction and ideological interpretation. This Essay is base on Dutch materials, especially the mutual communicated between the Dutchmen and the Ming Empire, and focuses on narration of historical events. It analyzes three topics. First, the Dutch objectives in occupying Pescadores;Second, the mutual negotiations and trade during the period of occupation;Third, the reasons for the Dutch abandonment of Pescadores for Taiwan. This essay points out that trade with Ming Empire was one of the Dutchmen’s main reasons for occupying Pescadores. However, since Pescadores was Ming territory, the Ming Empire used military force to contain the traders. Because the Dutch were not only faced with this threat, but were also move to Taiwan. However, they did not renounce their policy of setting up trade by means violence.
