Abstract:	圖書館自動化及網路發展的目的為：1.改善圖書館的作業程序，2.加強圖書館的服務。但目前網路的發展常受電腦與電信技術之趨使，且絕大多數的網路是由資訊人員開發，而忽略了應用上需要。今天我們討論網路發展，不要忘了我們最終的目的為增加工作效率，以改善圖書館服務。 The aims of library automation and network development are (1)to improve the library operation procedures, (2)to strengthen the library services. But at present the development of networks has usually been influenced by the trends of computer sciences and telecommunication techologies, and absolutely, the most of the library networks have been developed by the information people who may neglect the requirements of application. Today we will discuss the network development, and don`t forget that, our final purpose is to increase our working efficiency in order to improve the library services.
