    摘要: This study investigates employee recruitment and management, labor conditions, labor-management consultation channels, and employees’ degree of satisfaction in Taiwan-invested enterprises in mainland China. It also discusses the reasons and settlement methods for labor-management disputes in these enterprises.
    The analysis shows that most of these enterprises have enjoyed harmonious labor-management relations, with only a small number of labor-management disputes. However, most labor-management disputes have involved labor conditions such as wages, bonuses, insurance and welfare, work-hours, and readjustment of posts and duties. The main reasons for the disputes are lack of mutual confidence between labor and management, inadequate communications, different values, and inappropriate management systems and style. Since Beijing is paying more and more attention to enacting labor laws and strengthening labor inspections, and mainland Chinese laborers have become increasingly aware of their rights, Taiwan investors in mainland China should establish personnel management systems according to law so as to ensure the smooth operation of their enterprises.
