    Abstract: 1972 年の日華断交以前、主に政治外交を担ってきた日華関係は、外交関係の断絶により役割を終えたのではなく、準公式のチャネルとしてその後の日台実務関係を支えていた。これは、蒋介石時代のチャネルが温存されたというよりも、馬樹禮を中心とする対日工作が、蒋 経国のもとで一本化されたものの依然として蒋介石カードを活用してチャネルを形成していったからである。それには、蒋経国時代の対外政策が、台湾としての生き残りをかけて現実的な側面を強くしていく一方、国共内戦的な発想での外交も依然として残されたこと と関係をしている。そのことによって継続された日華の次元は、李登輝時代に対日政策が李登輝主導に再編されていくだけではなく、新たに日台関係のシンボルが作られるまで継続されざるを得なかった。 1972年日華斷交以前，主要擔負著政治外交的日華關係，並未因外交關係之斷絕而結束其角色，其作為半官方的管道支持著其後的日臺實務關係。此半官方管道僅僅並不是蔣介石時期之遺留物，倒不如說是以馬樹禮為中心的對日工作，在蔣經國之下整合，但依舊活用蔣介石牌而形成之。再者，蔣經國時期的對外政策，一方面加強臺灣為了生存的現實面，另一方面仍然是國共內戰思維下的外交。這蔣經國時期對外政策的特質影響到對日工作的特徵之形成。承繼於此的日華關係層次，於李登輝時期，對日政策不僅止於由李登輝主導下重組，且於新的日臺關係象徵建立之前，都不得不延續下去。Before diplomatic relations between Japan and ROC broke off in 1972, Japan-ROC relations were primarily focused on political diplomacy. Official break in diplomatic relations did not terminate political relations, but pragmatic relations were maintained through a semi-formal channel. Rather than considering this semi-formal channel as Chiang Kai-shek`s legacy, it`s more appropriate to consider this as a product of Ma Su-li`s Japan policy that integrates new and old leverages under Chiang Ching-kuo`s new regime. Chiang Ching-kuo`s foreign policy contained both elements of the pragmatics of Taiwan`s survival as well as diplomatic ideals inherited from the Chinese Civil War. With change in leadership, President Lee Teng-hui reshaped Taiwan`s Japan policy, but prior to its accomplishment, the semi-formal channel employed during Chiang Ching-kuo`s regime remained in operation.
