| Abstract: | 觀察台灣出版產業，自1950年代開始出現少量中文作品翻譯刊載於國外文學刊物中，陸續有許多中文作品外譯並集結成叢書出版。近年來，台灣圖書開始真正透過國際版權之商業模式，銷售翻譯版權至海外市場。本研究透過文獻蒐集與分析，瞭解各國圖書版權交易歷程、探討台灣圖書外譯的起源及官方政策的轉變。其後，以深度訪談法據以窺探政府部門、非營利組織及出版業者在台灣圖書外譯與版權交易的發展歷程及現階段所面臨的困境，並以問卷調查法分析台灣原創圖書出版與版權銷售之現況，進而了解其後可能發展的方向，為未來台灣圖書出版與國際版權銷售的發展提供借鏡參考。
本研究結論及建議如下：1. 台灣圖書外譯的機會與過程，譯本品質的重要性不可忽視，選擇翻譯文本的策略應該採取雙軸線進行。藉由早期學術譯介的成果為基礎，透過國際版權的途徑開拓新的視野。在翻譯人才的培育方面，建議建立起產學合作的體系、翻譯系所也應與台灣文學、創作相關系所合作。2. 在推動國際版權輸出的策略上，應分為兩條路線進行：學術出版、一般圖書市場，並從不同的目的、市場及國民閱讀的習慣選擇推動的作品及擬定合適的策略。此外，透過政府的力量，邀請國外譯者來台並舉辦交流活動，如此一來能夠增加對於台灣及文學作品的認識，增加台灣圖書版權銷售的機會。同時，整合現階段外譯成果並建立翻譯人才資料庫，改善難以尋得懂繁體中文的譯者的困境。
本研究政策建議如下列四點：1. 翻譯出版補助現況的調整；2. 協助輔導台灣出版從業人員國際文化交流；3. 政府部門之間的分工及計畫整合；4. 重視人才培育及傳承。
Since the 1950s, a small number of Taiwanese works have been translated and published in foreign journals. Until recently, the translation rights of Taiwanese books were sold to overseas markets. This research first reviews literature concerning books rights selling in other countries and the background of Taiwanese book translation program. The methods to carry out this research were based on in-depth interviewing and questionnaire to investigate the development and actuality of book translations and rights selling. These all can serve as reference for future government to further develop the strategies and marketing orientation of Taiwanese books and rights selling.
The conclusions and suggestions sum up Taiwanese book translations and international book rights selling by the following statements. First of all, the quality of translations are essential. Secondly, in promoting the international rights selling, the strategies should be divided into two routes: academic publishing, the general book market in accordance with different purposes markets and reading habits. By means of the powers of national government, it’s beneficial to invite foreign translators and organize exchanges in order to increase the understanding of literary works in Taiwan, and to increase opportunities to sell book rights.
The policy suggestions are as follows:
1. Adjust the translation grants;
2. Promote cultural interaction and personnel exchanges;
3. Clarify the division of labor and integration between government departments;
4. Strengthen cultivation of talent. |
