    Abstract: 本文透過「自行調節理論」來對個人行為與團體行為進行解釋。「自行調節理論」認為個人與團體面臨各種相互衝突的因素或現象時,能在生理、心理與社會層面維持機能的穩定,這就和複雜機器中的各種零件會相互配合,才能維持生產操作過程一樣。以傳播學研究而言,與「自行調節理論」相呼應的「認識不和諧理論」同樣指出個人如果察覺到了矛盾的存在,會為了堅定自身的信念而減少認識上的不和諧。此外,除了個人會自行調節自身的認識以適應新的環境,團體的力量也可幫助減少認識的不和諧。換言之,大眾傳播學的相關研究重視的是傳播過程和傳播效果。
