Title:	簡介美國新聞系學生就業情形

Abstract:	本文對美國新聞系學生就業情形作簡單分析，包含學生的資格、職業的型態和分配，做為我國發展新聞教育的參考。學生就業情形根據新聞事業發展而定，美國近年新聞事業的「合併」現象瞬息萬變，「報團」（Groups）已經占有全美日報銷售總數的百分之五十，而「連鎖」（Chains）也占廣播界很高的比例。此外，公共電視系統的設立，卻因資金來自聯邦政府，而使公共電視在執政黨壓力下避談本來應該討論的政治性與公共性問題，同時也因公共電視建立，使商業電視有藉口減少公共利益節目的播放。但無論美國報業即廣播電事業在本質上有任何結構性的蛻變，美國新聞界對全美新聞教育的革新與發展貢獻仍是不遺餘力，特別是提供高額獎學金促進新聞教育的發展。至於將來新聞系學生就業情形，則要看最近新聞事業的營利而定。美國商業部預測，一九七一年報紙收益將增加百分之四到五，華爾街日報對報紙及雜誌的長期預測是樂觀的，故美國近一兩年畢業生的就業情形，會是一種保守性的樂觀現象。
