Title:	台灣地區民眾接觸媒介的動機與滿足

Abstract:	一般而言，人們接觸大眾媒介是由於預期媒介可以幫助他們滿足某些需要，換言之，一個人接觸媒介是基於個人需要，懷著某種動機的，他是一個主動者，使用媒介中的材料（內容）來達成目的；他不像是一般大眾傳播機構所想像的是傳播的「目標」或「對象」，相反的，媒介才是閱聽人的「對象」。所以，假使要探究媒介對閱聽人產生什麼「效果」，有什麼「功能」的話，必較切合實際的途徑是先了解他使用媒介的動機，以及所獲滿足的程度。本文就是「媒介使用與滿足」（media use and gratification）的研究。在本研究的結論中發現，一般人接觸媒介主要是為了能「增廣見聞」、「知道國家和世界大事」以及「了解地方事情」；而最能滿足大多數民眾需要的媒介依次是電視、報紙、廣播、雜誌及電影。而性別、年齡、居住地區、籍貫、教育程度、經濟能力等不同項目也對民眾接觸媒介的需求有強烈的影響。
