    Title: 蘭嶼民眾傳播行為與其現代化程度之研究

    Abstract: 本文研究除了是對蘭嶼民眾的傳播行為做一根本研究，也欲透過此研究來發現一套更適合蘭嶼民眾的傳播方式，以協助蘭嶼社會的發展。本研究所謂的「傳播行為」包括媒介習慣、對外公共事務的瞭解以及親身傳播，而「現代化」的範圍則側重研究現代化的過程，也就是研究由「傳統」到「現在」的社會變遷過程中，現代化「量」的多寡及其變化如何？其中大眾傳播媒介擔當了什麼角色？

    經過資料分析的結果，本研究發現蘭嶼民眾的各項基本資料（年齡、教育程度、有收音機否、曾赴外地否、會說國語否、職業）與媒介接觸相關，而蘭嶼民眾獲悉外界公共事務消息的主要來源的確為大眾傳播媒介，較少是來自於親身傳播，同時，大眾傳播媒介也因此可促使蘭與民眾接觸外界公共事務消息，並在變遷過程中，促使了蘭嶼民眾的現代化程度。雖然本研究中主要探討傳播行為與現代化程度的關聯性，結果也發現比起媒介來說，教育對蘭嶼民眾的現代化程度可能更有影響力。

    此外，本研究還有其他發現，包含蘭嶼民眾接觸最多的媒介實為收音機，而不接觸媒介的主要原因是「聽不懂」、「看不懂」，民眾之間的親身傳播也不頻繁，且無論受教育與否，對傳統習俗的觀念都一致，而大部分的蘭嶼民眾「流動性」觀念強烈，都想離開蘭嶼到外地看看。
