Title:	南台灣環保抗爭的組織與意理分析 Resource Mobilization and Politics of Signification in an Environmental Protest

Abstract:	針對一九九五年下半年發生在台灣南部之民眾圍廠，抗議石化工廠排放廢氣的個案，研究者利用社會學之社會運動理論分析，得出主客層面兩點結論。客觀來說，本文析得在抗爭過程中，縣級地方政府，因為中央政府受限於年底以降的立法委員、國大代表、總統選舉，不敢開罪選民而取得關鍵中介角色：一方面迫使廠商降價供應自發電力並繳交地方營業稅，另一方面以此優惠條件令鄉民讓步而使石化工場復工，成為抗爭事件之最大受益者。主觀來說，本文證明鄉民與廠方兩造，環繞圍廠事件，各自形成「生存權利」及「科技萬能」的意識形態，並透過相同的論述機制，自然化了彼此「積怨」或「牟利、的動機，使動機成為論述空間中的「常識」，也使得抗爭兩造忘卻意識形態本身之運作。研究者並藉著經濟問題的討論，表達對融合組織及意理的社會運動架構的看法。
