Abstract:	本文探討近十年有關美國總統圖書館之重要論述文獻，有系統地指出美國總統圖書信之重要興革。美國自1939年成立羅斯福總統圖書館以來，至今已有十一座總統圖書館。本文介紹美國總統圖書館緣起、發展、立法、運作之方式、各種功能及其價值取向。最後，針對我國成立總統圖書館之議題提出建議與看法。 By studying 10 years` literature and related documents, this paper is a systematic analysis of American presidential libraries, tracing out the historical development of 11 US presidential libraries since 1939, the year when the Roosevelt library was first founded. Serving as an introduction to the origin, development, legislature, operations, functions, and values of this special library, the paper concludes with some comments on the similar suggestions about establishing presidential libraries in Taiwan.
