    Abstract: 邁入二十一世紀的圖書館面臨許多的困難與挑戰，圖書館並不會在短期內消失，印刷的形式仍將是科技資訊傳播的主要方式。不過圖書館界一直在改變之中，不僅僅是科技的影響，所有的觀念、看法、期望與技術共同交織成大型的文化結構。在科技進步如此快速的情況下，進行圖書館規劃實非易事，在醫學圖書館方面，近幾年來受到醫療環境變遷、醫學教育改革、網路技術發展與知識管理觀念興起等重大影響的衝擊，無論在組織架構、資源分配、管理模式等方面，皆需要有所調適與改革，對於圖書館的實體空間與設計也造成很大的影響。本文將探討數位環境中圖書館空間規劃的重要性、電子技術的發展對於圖書館建築的影響；並針對醫學圖書館的相關問題提出討論。
    Rapid advances in technology pose new and difficult challenges for libraries in the 21st century. While the print format would remain a viable means of disseminating science and technology information, electronic technology along with various other changes in knowledge management would certainly drive libraries to alter their course of direction. This paper explores issues of space planning, construction requirements of a medical library in response to changes in digital environment and electronic advances.
