    Abstract: 魯迅和賴和所處的時代，正是中國和臺灣分別受到帝國強權摧殘的政治病態階段，也是現代性初萌而封建舊勢力籠罩的文化劇烈變革階段，在新舊文化緊繃對峙的時代境遇下，他們雖然同樣具有反帝、反封建的思想進步性，但正因為他們的「帝國殖民經驗」的差異，使他們最後在面對自己的鄉土經驗時，表現出一否定、一肯定截然不同的面貌，這一差異面貌，尤其表現在他們對民俗活動與信仰迷信的書寫態度上，本文對兩人民俗迷信書寫的面貌與形成的根源作一初步簡要的考察，以作為兩人鄉土經驗比較的主要切入點，藉此說明他們分別被稱為中國與臺灣「新文學之父」的原因，正因為他們透過審視故鄉的病兆，深刻地挖掘出他們各自生存世界的根本性難題。
