摘要: This study aims to explore (a) the structural differences between Czech and Chinese in expressing motion events;and (b) how these differences manifest in the interlanguage of Chinese students learning Czech;specifically focusing on the types of non-standard constructions (hereafter referred to as NsC) that appear in their Czech sentences expressing motion events. The theoretical framework is based on the post-Talmy model of conceptualization motion events;which focuses on the variability of constructions used to express motion events and their different structural characteristics. The study uses a methodological approach involving the collection of narratives data prompted by the picture book Frog;Where are you? (Meyer;1969) and its subsequent analysis. A comparison of Czech and Chinese revealed two main differences in expressing motion events: (a) Czech constructions often use verb prefixes to convey motion;a feature absent in Chinese;and (b) Chinese constructions typically employs particles and;to some extent;serial verbs in equivalent constructions. These differneces led to two expectations regarding the NsC observed in expressing motion events in the interlanguage of Chinese speakers: (a) NsC related to prefixes would be the most prevalent;and (b) NsC related to prefixes differ from those involving other devices in that prefixes would primarily be associated with omissions (an avoidance strategy);while other devices would mainly show confusion. The analysis confirmed both expectations: (a) Prefixes are involved in more than half of the observed NsC;while NsC related to other devices (such as prepositions and cases) are significantly fewer. The non-standardness of constructions using prefixes is also higher;with a rate of 34% for prefixes;compared to 17% for prepositions and cases. (b) The second expectation was confirmed even more strongly;with omissions accounting for 89% of NsC;related to prefixes;while no omissions are found in constructions involving other devices.
