    Abstract: 本文旨在援引都市漫遊者之概念，剖析艾略特早年一九一○期間有關倫敦的數篇側寫，例如〈倫敦間奏曲〉(“Interlude in London,” dated April 1911)、〈百貨公司〉(“In the Department Store,” 1915)、〈下午〉(“Afternoon,” 1915)、〈早晨臨窗〉(“Morning at the Window,”1914-1915)、與〈伊爾卓普與愛波培斯〉(“Eeldrop and Appleplex,”1917)。一則檢視波德萊爾(Charles Baudelaire)、班雅明(Walter Benjamin)）、甄克斯(Chris Jenks)、菲德史東(Mike Featherstone)、雷格諾(John Rignall)等人有關都市漫遊者的論述，以還原／補述／形塑都市漫遊者的風貌。二則彰顯艾略特如何透過都市漫遊者的書寫場域，描繪倫敦──蟻聚的都市，滿佈幻想的時空──都會生活舉凡震撼、商品文化、形象包裝慾望、真實與符號位移、文化普遍商業化等魔幻慾望場域的現象，饒富探索考掘都市人類學之意涵；因此，都市漫遊者於艾略特而言，乃是一種表述策略，一種書寫位置，饒富自反性，深具魔幻紀實(phantasmagoric realism)、隱身微行(incognito)、距離與涉入(distantiation and involvement)、「漫遊」(the “dérive”)、「改道」(“détournement”)、與「展示」(the spectacle)等特徵。三則透過文學與文化研究的對話，扣問現代／後現代的文學文化內容，以及高額文化場域與通俗文化場域在價值、目的、與實踐上的可能差異性與重複性。
