This project is to explore the cultural concepts, which are embodied in the Chinese and Russian respectively. The key cultural concepts are used as a framework to analyze their realization in a variety of situations brought about by the cultural connotation of the form and it’s structure, which are fixed in the word-concept. In the hope of making an acquaintance with the special nature of national culture and mentality and promoting the mutual understanding among ethnic and linguistic groups, we are about to consider the functions of concepts as the common and special elements of the culture in this rapidly changing world. More concretely, such cultural concepts as "home", "law", in Russian and Chinese, are deemed as mapping of the culture, which carries not only typical type of meaning, but also definite worldviews. The concept of culture with specific language rendering mode implies the ideas, imagery, and the emotional value of the speakers belong to the scope of our observation. In order to achieve this goal, speech sources, definitions, systems, imagery, and other characteristics of the word-concept will be analyzed in the study. In this comparative study of cultural concept in Chinese and Russian, we need to use a variety of dictionaries, electronic resources, vocabulary database, thesaurus, literary works, and travel literature. The comparative analysis of the cultural concept "home" and "law" in the Chinese and Russian will highlight the types and features of the worldview in the given ethic and linguistic groups.
