    Abstract: 本研究主要研究目的希望結合東方面子工夫及西方形象修復理論，針對目前相關研究在理論架構與研究方法未竟之處，進行跨文化面子工夫與形象修復策略之使用比較。此外，本計畫亦希望探討面子框架工夫與形象修復策略的影響與效益，尤其著重於媒體 形象報導的探討。本研究採多個案研究法，以「企業管理型危機」與「政治人物失言型危機」為觀察重點，政治人物又區分為男性與女性政治人物進行觀察。以七個個案（國內五個，國外二個）進行深入探討，七個案內容分析樣本共720 則報紙報導。研究結果就台灣、美國企業及政治個案在面子框架功夫及形象修復策略上層面向之異同處進行比較及討論。
