Abstract:	이 연구는 한국어 구어에 나타난 종결어미 ‘-다’의 의미 기능에 관한 기술 문제를 다루는 것이다. 구체적으로는 ‘-다’를 논의한 기존의 연구를 검토함으로써 ‘-다’의 기술에 나타난 문제점을 지적하고 한국어 구어 말뭉치에 나타난 ‘-다’의 용례를 바탕으로 ‘-다’의 의미 기능에 대한 효과적인 기술 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 종결어미 ‘-다’는 흔히 가장 무표적인 평서형 어미로 주로 문어에 두루 쓰이는 기본적 형태로 인식되어 왔다. 실제로 구어에 나타난 ‘-다’는 ‘-어’, ‘-지’와 같은 범용어미 못지않게 사용 빈도가 높은 만큼 다양한 의미 기능을 수행하고 있다는 사실이 구어 말뭉치 분석을 통해 확인되었다. 다양한 의미 기능을 가진 ‘-다’는 그 동안 하나의 ‘-다’로 귀속시킬지, 별개의 ‘-다’로 분리할지에 대한 고려없이 ...
