    Abstract: 本研究以中央研究院於一九八四和一九九七年出版的「台灣地區社會變遷基本調查資料」做比較分析,探討台灣地區背景因素對子女教育的影響變遷情形研究的結果顯示,背景和教育因素對本人教育影響效果顯著。其次,在經濟快速發展、教育擴張、以及入學率的提昇下,父母對子女的教育期望與影響,近年來已慢慢縮減、逐漸公平。最後就家庭教育來說,父母應多和子女相處,多關心孩子的身心發展,因為對子女的教育投資越多,對子女的學業成就影響也會越大。
    The present study using the Taiwan Social Change Survey published in 1984 and 1997 explores the change of the impact that the factor of backgrounds in children's education has in Taiwan. The conclusion of this research indicated that background and education influenced educational disparity in Taiwan. Also, under the process of rapid economical development, as educational expansion and the probability of entering advanced school increased drastically, educational expectation and influence on sons and daughters by parents have become stronger. Finally, parents deeply care abowt their children especially as far as family education is concerned.
