The Research of Checklist of the Ideal Mentor Principal Traits for Principal Support System Constructing in Taiwan Elementary School
This study focused on understanding the Ideal Mentor Principal Traits in Taiwan Elementary School. This study employed the survey method. The subjects were 714 principals randomly sampled from 1000 elementary schools in Taiwan district. The Instrument was "Checklist of the Ideal Mentor Principal Traits " included five dimensions : positive attitude, self requirement, strong people and communication skills, life long learner, and good manager of time and resources. Data were analyzed using the method of Reliability and LISREL. The major findings were:
1.According Reliability analysis, the Cronbach α of the five dimensions of Checklist are from .469 to .837 .
2.There is a good fit model at the Ideal Mentor Principal Traits Checklist form NFI, NNFI, AGFI,GFI indicator of Lisrel.
3.The findings of the study supported the constructed model , and the five dimensions of the Ideal Mentor Principal Traits had a great influence on Principal Support System.
4. In The Ideal Mentor Principal Traits Checklist, “good manager of time and resources” ranks first and “positive attitude” ranks last.
In the last, based on the research results, the researcher propose some suggestions, hoping to benefit the of the school Principal Support System in the future.
