Title:	EL：探索體驗學習的英雄之旅

Abstract:	探索體驗學習（Expeditionary Learning，簡稱EL）在國內又翻譯成「遠征式學習」；但「遠征」只是一種隱喻，象徵走出教室、進入社區、真實體驗與深度探索，可視為學習的一種「英雄之旅」，其理念源於德國教育家柯漢（Kurt Hahn）在二次大戰期間所創立的外展（Outward Bound）教育。一九九一年，美國外展教育協會與哈佛大學教育研究院合作創造了EL模式，獲得聯邦政府的支持，並於一九九三年開辦了十所EL學校。發展至今，全美至少已有一六五所，主要是公立學校，橫跨三十三州，縱跨K-12年級。美國前總統歐巴馬在二○一○年參觀華府一所推動EL的公立特許學校後，公開讚揚說：「這種類型的創新學校，是所有學校應有的典範！」EL學校的成功，除了掌握課程與教學核心層次的創新，也獲得學校文化的共識、組織結構的彈性、社區家長的支持、模範EL學校的陪伴、學術界的研發、教育協會的串聯和政府的支持，並經過四至五年的轉化過程。其實，任何深刻的教育改革或實驗創新，如果不以課程與教學為核心，就走不進教室；如果沒有外圍的支持系統，就走不出教室。
