Introduction: 本校奉准於民國五十六年成立「國立政治大學歷史學系」，本系除師資培育之外，史學研究人才的培育也是研究及教學的重點。於民國六十五年成立研究所，以培養中國近現代史、近代中外關係史等領域為研究重心，博士班於民國七十六年成立，研究領域擴及台灣史、中國政制史，目前則朝多元化方向發展。 In 1967, in response to the new nine-year national compulsory education plan, the Ministry of Education encouraged public universities in Taiwan to establish departments and programs to train teachers for junior and high schools. As a result, the History Department at National Chengchi University was founded. Subsequently, in 1976, the Graduate School of History was established with a focus on modern Chinese history and Chinese international relations. A Ph.D. program was introduced in 1987. Over time, the Graduate School's offerings have expanded to include the study of Taiwan's history, Chinese politics, and institutions.
